Beware of Liquidation Sales

With the current economy, liquidation sales are everywhere. 75% off, the signs say. Everything must go! Great deals! But beware as what you find inside may not be such a great deal.
Unknown to most, these big stores hire an outside firm to run the liquidation sales and this firm takes a cut of the sales. This means that the prices may be the same or even higher than the original prices. Plus competitors may lower their prices on the same products in order to compete.
In other words, know your prices. Make a list of what you want or need and check around at the competitors for prices before you shop at the liquidation sale.
Liquidators also often sell products from other bankruptcies. Be sure to check the boxes to make sure what you think you’re getting is actually in the box. Check out price tags, looking for wording such as “additional agent merchandise.”
All sales are final. This means you can’t take it back if it doesn’t fit right. And, check out the manufacture warranty, they are often not honored.
This doesn’t mean you can’t find some awesome deals. Just beware and cautious before splurging.
